Engagement Sessions: Fall & Winter

At JS Photo Video we include an engagement with our photography services because we feel it is an essentail part to building our relationship with each and every couple. The engagement session is a great time to go out and really get to know one another, for the couple it's a great opportunity to understand how posing and the photographic process takes place and for the photographer it's an opportunity to get a sense of how the couple interact in front of the camera. The more relaxed everyone is the day of the wedding, the better the results! The engagement session is the perfect warmup for the big day.

There are many options of where to go for your engagement session and we try to base it off of your tastes and the time of year during which you'd like the session to take place. As cooler weather starts to move in we typically are leaving the beaches and sunsets behind us and moving inland to parks. Convention Hall in Asbury Park this fall served as a great alternative for us on a cool, rainy day that allowed us to be "at the shore" with out being out in the elements.

While more open areas such as Spring Lake offer many different scenery options within a short distance, be it over at the lake or down the road at the beach. A favorite spot for engagement sessions would have to be Allaire State Park. The park offers unlimited possibilities and is a great backdrop for any time of year. Wineries are also a great way to change up your engagement session, plus a drink or two during the shoot is never a bad way to loosen up. Laurita Winery offers plenty of areas to photograph in both inside and out.

So while you'll walk away from the session with amazing photographs it really is more about the experience,; knowing that come the wedding day it won't be a stranger with a camera, but a friend from JS Photo Video capturing your wedding day.
